About the presenters

Elliott Daniels
Associate Director/Academic Coordinator Men’s Basketball and Football

Elliott Daniels enters his ninth year in Student-Athlete Support Services at Michigan State University serving in various capacities, most currently as Associate Director. In this role, he assists the Associate Athletic Director and Director of Academic Services with the overall management and daily operation of the Academic Services Unit and administers programming for both Men's Basketball and Football programs. Responsibilities include implementing academic resources and services, developing retention strategies, monitoring progress through graduation and assisting with all academic and university related areas for at-risk and good standing student-athletes. Ensuring that all student-athletes receive effective and efficient services, Daniels has oversight of Learning Disability Services, Mentor Programming as well as full-time staff, graduate assistants and interns.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Daniels attended Eastern Michigan University where he played football. A three-year letter winner (1999-2001), Daniels was one of the top scholars on the team, being awarded numerous Athletic Director Honor Roll awards while earning a spot on the All-MAC Academic Team three times. He earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Management from EMU in April of 2003 and completed a Master's of Science in Student-Athlete Development from MSU in June of 2005.

Vin McCaffrey is the CEO and Founder of Game Theory Group International (GTG). Through its unique student athlete development system, GTG enables athletic departments to engage, track and monitor their student athletes' entire academic experience, while providing employers the ability to access student athlete career profiles. This unique platform is complemented by an executive search practice that focuses on the placement of experienced former student and professional athletes into employment.

In addition to his work with GTG, McCaffrey is a frequent media contributor and guest lecturer on topics such as student athletics, entrepreneurship and career management. McCaffrey holds a BA in International Relations from Lehigh University where he was a varsity letter winner on their men's basketball team and a MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He currently serves on the boards of Global Print Systems, Inc., the State of North Carolina jobs task force and the Lehigh University Athletics Partnership Committee.
